Happy New Year

Plenty of amazing and new things are on the horizon for the coming year.

But first - a happy, prosperous and HEALTHY new year to you and your family and friends.

Recently, I've been inducted into the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences - otherwise known as the Recording Academy/NARAS - or the GRAMMYs (r) - as they're more popularly referred to.

More importantly, I've been admitted into the Producer and Engineer's Wing - and am proud to be amongst leading producers, engineers, remixers, manufacturers, technologists, and other related music recording industry professionals.

I've just completed by ballots for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards Ceremonies (to be broadcast live/worldwide on February 10, 2008 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles). It's been a thrill to participate in this process and I'm honored to have made a difference.

Additionally, my plate is filling up fast for production and recording services for the 2008-2009 season. Plenty of new artists and seasoned veterans will be passing through Boca Raton - and I'll be using this space to giving you some inside scoop on what's happening behind the glass.

So enjoy the upcoming year - be safe - and make a difference!

Peace,

DR

Wow...

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

It's certainly been quite some time since I visited this page. To say that I've been slammed (e.g. "busy"), would be an understatement. To say that I've been blessed to have been working with some amazing talent would also be less than emphatic. Essentially...there are no words to explain all the gratitude that I've welling up inside of me - particularly as so much has transpired since my last post.

Oddly enough - another quantum leap is about to transpire.

So why am I not as forthcoming with the latest "news"?

Simple - I'm superstitious and don't want to "jinx" anything.

So just hang in there and know that I'll be back with some more details in the coming weeks/month. For those of you who keep writing wanting to know "what's up"...I won't let you down.

More info to follow!

Peace,

D

Wasabi?

Things are great around South Florida - especially now. The weather is delightful (not too hot). The snowbirds are leaving the area and freeing up establishments that would otherwise be clogged (typically between Thanksgiving and Easter/Passover).

Now is also a great time for studio work. I'm in the process of embarking on several new projects - some of which I'll describe in this blog:

1. I'm fortunate enough to have completed Scott Angel's premiere: BURNING UP INSIDE. Since we finished mastering it several months ago, we've been writing and producing his follow-up - a yet untitled disc that's even hipper, more hard driving, emotion-filled and hip. Stay tuned, and if you've not yet visited his web site, click here.

2. As I get older, I seem to be working with younger and more talented artists. Two fabulous singer/songwriters (that I hope you'll be hearing more of) include Jessie Bruno and Serena H. With styles ranging from R&B to Power Pop, these classy, sassy and happening females are "stunners". Sit tight, and hold on - it's an incredible ride.

3. I've been consulting for a new international label based in South Beach. Their first entry into the music publishing, distribution and marketing industry will begin pre-production in the coming weeks. It's a highly unusual, positive and giving organization - and I'm certain they'll make their mark in a variety of areas - including the music business. As one of their affiliated websites launches in the coming week, I'll post more information here for your review.

4. Finally, one of my oldest and dearest (if not best) friend has charged me with co-writing with him. Those of you who don't already know of Mark Schaffel are missing out on one of (if not the) most talented signer/songwriter/producers I know of. I'm blessed to be slowly and methodically working on co-writes with him - as our schedules are pretty packed. Again, stay tuned - this stuff is righteous.

That's it for now. Enjoy the pre-summer days and chill to some great tunes.

The New, The Great & The Beautiful

Yes it's been since late January that I've last posted here. Shame on me. And thanks to the few of you who were patient enough to point it out, and ask me to start up again. With some travel on the horizon, this might be difficult, but I've decided to give it another shot.

So what's the meaning behind the title? Well here's a brief explanation...

The New: MIRACLES - my second smooth jazz release hit the streets a few days ago and is making its way to email listings, digital distribution outlets and retail stores around the country. If you're into NEW smooth jazz, fusion, latin, and are ready for a few surprises - check it out. You can also save a few bucks (and who doesn't) by ordering MIRACLES here. Remember, all profits go to help fight pediatric cancer through the Margaux's Miracle Foundation - so pony up today, listen to some great music, and help families and their kids!

The Great: If you've not heard of Scott Angel - check him out. His new CD - Burning Up Inside - is a smash hit. I was fortunate enough to produce, write/co-write and perform on this project. I highly recommend it...as it's a GREAT work that you'll be proud to add to your collection.

The Beautiful: In addition to my regular gig as Producer, Engineer and Writer - I've recently been tapped to consult for an a new and international independent record label/publisher: Courtyard Music. This great and BEAUTIFUL organization is part of a larger corporation Alchemical Courtyard, which brings to market some of the most unique, healthful, cultural and educational offerings known to the planet. While the music and publishing label are in their embryonic state, both companies are getting traction quickly...so stay tuned as wonderful new music will be made available soon.

Thanks again for your support.
